Worthy Object and Elements
Within this program, the worthy object is that these males do not have a mentor. The type of mentoring that will need to place is one-on-one, school and community-based, long-term, and a minimum three school-year commitment. Mentoring has the potential to benefit our African-American male students in a range of areas, including academics, mental health, social-emotional well-being, and preventing perilous behaviors. These elements are very crucial to the program. Mentoring that promotes African-American boys' racial identity may, in turn, lead to positive effects in other aspects of their lives. To make these elements efficient, the Department of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity will administer and oversee this worthy object.
